When I saw the taupe vegan leather bag on the top, my eyes teared up. It was perfect, beautiful, and not something I ever would have found on my own.
My husband got me the most thoughtful gift ever for Christmas, a credit for Stitchfix, a personal styling website.
I filled out the long but fun questionnaire and waited for my box to come with much anticipation. I’m not the kind of person who comes home from a shopping trip with coordinated pieces. My closet hasn’t been updated with anything I love since before Anneka was born (who is now two and a half), and I often feel disappointed with purchases, small and large. So I was eager to see what someone else with style expertise would pick out for me.
Among all the other details I provided, I was asked to fill in a little more about myself. This is what I wrote:
“I work from home but go to the Denver office twice a week. We can wear whatever but I like the dressy/feminine/romantic top with jeans and nice boots look. I love feminine tops. I love dark skinny jeans….I like bags a lot. I need things that are [figure-flattering] without being too tight. I like structured tops. I look good in primary colors and coral.”
When I got my box from stitch and opened it, this beautiful bag was lying in the top.
The bag is not exactly something I would ever have bought for myself, which is why it was such a beautiful surprise. It was like someone who knew me picked out a bag just for me, something they knew I would like but that I wouldn’t know to get for myself. It’s a Melie Bianco vegan leather bag. I love the two straps, the size, the zippered pocket in the back perfect for my phone, the contrast of suede and smooth texture, and the taupe color.
Also included was this beautiful feminine and romantic top from Royal Project. It has these amazing Shakespeare sleeves which I forgot to take a picture of. The sweater from Honey Punch is also something I would never have picked out but know I will wear a lot. Forest green complements my red hair and is as soft and cozy as can be.
I think I like the Heartloom shirt even better. Black and white is a favorite thing of mine. Isn’t that ruffle so cute?
The whole ensemble of shirt, sweater, and bag.
They also sent Kut from the Kloth jeans, but because of a size mistake I made I had to send them back. I love Kut from the Kloth so I hope they send something like this again.
I was delighted with my experience with Stitchfix. I need some new boots and instead of spending hours browsing for, buying, and returning boots, I’m excited to see what Michelle (my stylist at Stitchfix) comes up with for me!
